EA has cancelled some e-sports competitions due to coronavirus

EA published the announcement, dedicated to the spring schedule eSports events. The company took the decision to cancel or postpone some of them because of the coronavirus.

EA has decided to postpone the first major tournament Apex Legends, which was held from 13 to 15 March in Arlington, Texas. The second tournament in the global series on the shooter will be held according to the plan.

the Company also made changes to the tournaments global series on FIFA 20. The fifth stage of FUT Champions Cup and PlayStation Licensed Qualifying Event, which was held from 7 to 8 March and from 2 to 3 may respectively have been cancelled, and the competition CONMEBOL eLibertadores was postponed.

EA is continuing to monitor the situation of the disease and promised to soon announce new date for postponed events.

Previously, due to coronavirus canceled, the festival SXSW 2020, moved the exhibition GDC 2020 and the premiere of “No time to die”, and Google and Nvidia have decided to host their events online.
